Backline Turns 7 on October 7th
Seven years ago, Backline started with a simple idea: the people who make music happen deserve care that works for them. On October 7th, we turn seven.
Today, Backline is a comprehensive system of care, built by the industry, for the industry. And this year, it's reaching further than ever. As more people across music have come to know Backline, more people have reached out. More tour managers, artists, engineers, and their families have turned to us than in all of last year combined. For many of them, it was the first time they'd asked for help.
It's everything we hoped for when we started. It also means we need your help to keep up.
In the last seven years, Backline has:
⭐ Invested $6.4 million in the music community
⭐ Provided 3,300+ individuals a custom mental health care plan
⭐ Granted over $696,000 across 476 individual mental health care grants
⭐ Welcomed 1,800+ mental health providers into our network
Any music industry professional or family member can connect one-on-one with a free Case Manager, who builds a personalized mental health care plan. We operate B-LINE, the music industry's 24/7 mental health and crisis support line, available anytime by call or text, because the industry doesn't run on a 9-to-5 schedule. Backline also offers Wellness Days with backstage bodywork, Virtual Community Support Groups, take.care Wellness Kits for the road, and free or discounted wellness subscriptions. Wherever you are, on or off the road, Backline meets you there.
This birthday month, and in honor of World Mental Health Day on 10/10, we're raising $77,777. It's an ambitious goal, but Backline has always been grassroots, and this community has carried us through every one of our seven years. The people who believed in us early are the reason we're here.
