Supporting Mental Health Care for the Music Community

$75 towards $1,000

On April 23rd, I went through the hardest moment of my life. I had a mental health emergency and attempted to take my own life.

That is not easy to write, but it feels important to say honestly. Since then, I have been in a 16-week outpatient recovery program, and I have been taking my healing, my mental health, and my life more seriously than I ever have before. I am doing much better now, but I know that I did not get here alone. Support, care, honesty, and the willingness to ask for help have been a huge part of my recovery.

With the release of my new EP, Sakura, on ODYZEY Music, I wanted to turn this chapter into something that could help others.

For years, so many of you have shared messages with me about how Dreamers Delight music has helped you through grief, anxiety, depression, heartbreak, loneliness, and difficult seasons of life. Those messages have meant more to me than I can ever fully explain. It is incredibly special to know that something I created has been able to bring people comfort when they needed it most.

Now, I want to use this release to give back.

I am raising funds for Backline, a nonprofit organization that provides mental health and wellness support for people in the music industry and their families. Backline helps connect artists, crew, managers, producers, agents, label teams, and other music professionals with resources such as mental health care referrals, case management, peer support, crisis support, wellness tools, educational resources, and support designed specifically for the realities of working in music.

This cause is deeply personal to me. The music industry can be beautiful, inspiring, and full of connection, but it can also be isolating, unstable, and emotionally overwhelming. I know how easy it can be to hide what you are going through, to keep performing, to keep creating, and to keep showing up while silently struggling.

I want anyone who is in a dark place to know this: you are not broken, you are not alone, and help is worth reaching for. Taking the first step can feel impossible, but there are people and organizations that exist to help you get through it.

For this fundraiser, 100% of my profits from Bandcamp sales of the Sakura EP will be donated to Backline. My collaborators on the EP — CloZee, Break Science, and Lil Fish — along with ODYZEY Music, will also be donating 100% of their profit portions from Bandcamp to this fundraiser.

You can support in two ways:

  1. Buy Sakura on Bandcamp so your purchase goes directly toward the fundraiser.
  2. Donate directly to the campaign if you would like to contribute beyond the music.

Thank you for listening, for being part of this community, and for allowing this music to mean something bigger. My hope is that this fundraiser helps someone take one step toward care, support, and a life they are still meant to live.

With love,
Reed / Dreamers Delight
